Connecticut to Change Real Estate Broker License Requirements.
The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection – Real Estate Commission has made changes to the broker pre-licensing education requirements that will take effect on July 1, 2016.
Currently the Broker requirements are:-
60 hours in Principles and Practice of Real Estate. 30 hours in either of Basic Appraisal Principles or Basic Appraisal Procedures. 30 hours of an approved elective real estate related course. At least two years as a licensed real estate Salesperson. Application fee and original certificates of completion. Connecticut New Broker Pre-licensing Requirements Effective July 1, 2016.
60 hours in Principles and Practice of Real Estate. New 15 hour course on Real Estate Broker Principles and Practices. New 15 hour course on Legal Issues. New take two 15 hour approved elective courses. (Exception -that the commission waive the two elective course if the applicant has successfully completed a cumulative total of at least 20 real estate transactions during the previous five years.) At least two years as a licensed real estate Salesperson. Application fee and original certificates of completion.
