Supermarket Trickery Not Just At Halloween
I was reading an article about how supermarkets can trap you into buying and lingering in a grocery store.
One of the big ones was relaxing music so you'll hang around and shop.  Really?  I have been going to the grocery store for more years than I care to remember and I don't ever recall hearing any music at all.
Another was the lighting on the produce.  Evidently, the supermarket chains are spending big on bright-white lighting to give fruits and vegetables a just-picked appearance.  There are also red-tinted illumination for meats and prime cuts to appear even fresher.
Free samples, pre-planning scents and aromas for certain times of the day on selected aisles and more.  I'm not surprised really and can't blame the supermarkets for trying to "produce" more business (bad pun intended).  Had I not read these tips and tricks, I don't believe I would have even paid attention.
