How a tweet resulted in a 2 lbs Reese's surprise
I LOVE Reese's peanut butter cups. It's definitely my guilty pleasure. Especially after a long run (yea.. I know).
I look forward to indulging on special and not-so-special occasions. I practice self-restraint (most of the time) but once Christmas time rolls around, all bets are off. I have to have a Reese's peanut butter tree or 2 or 3 .. it's not a holiday without one.
Perhaps you remember seeing pictures all over social media last Christmas making fun of the shape of the Reese's peanut butter tree? Personally, I couldn't have cared less, it's the taste that counts and it's not like I unwrap it to admire its shape. Others, however, were having a field day with it and the whole thing went viral.
Until the HERSHEY company stole their thunder that is.
How many companies can you think of that would have responded with a catalog of excuses, finger pointing and some sort of backlash? HERSHEY/REESE'S is not one of those.
I found their response epic: "Put an end to tree shaming" Reese's said, #alltreesarebeautiful. I figured that I should let them know - being that I am one of their biggest addicts fans and all - and sent a tweet to @ReesesPBCups.
And what do ... more
