Norkirk is a historic district in downtown Kirkland that was originally developed in the early 1900's. Located North of downtown between Market and 8th St, the new bungalows and craftsman-style homes of the era reflected the arts and crafts movement popular throughout the U.S. Many of these cottages still exist today although, over the last 20 years or so, most have come down and been replaced with gorgeous million dollar and multi million dollar homes. The transformation continues today and spacious plots, once farmland for the original settlers or summer cottages for wealthy Seattlites, are being short platted by the dozens to make room for a more modern experience.
