Moving On: How Do You Know When Its Time?
In the book " Downsizing the Family Home" by Marni Jameson there is a chapter called " Moving On".
In the chapter she begins by describing life as a bell curve.

We move up the bell when we get married, buy our first home, have children, acquire things.

But then there comes a time in your life when the things you have acquired are tying you down.

When you feel tied down how do you know when it's time to move on?

Marni Jameson gives this advice " A home ..and I don't mean a house.. must be elastic. It must give, expand, and contract while helping you to hold it all together, like a good pair of control tops. And when it no longer does that, it may need to go. Let me repeat that 'When your home no longer fits, it may need to go.' "
I think this discussion is a difficult one to process for many people but is necessary. So I recommend sitting down and talking it out .

And here is what you should discuss .

Is Your home supporting you or are you supporting it? Has the Family Changed? Can you afford to move? Face the Feelings. Acknowledge the lossess ... more
