Do You Have a 'Happy Place'?
 
Do you enjoy boating, sailing, relaxing, entertaining, sunrises and sunsets? ‘The Barbara Anne’, our lake house on Lake Palestine, Texas, is where my husband, dogs and I enjoy these things and much more.
Summers spent at my parents' lake house on Devils Lake, Michigan (the first ‘The Barbara Anne’), were fabulous.  In looking back on my life, it was my ‘happy place’, even though I didn't realize it then.  After moving to Houston 36 years ago, my dream has been to have another lake house--a new ‘happy place’.  Dreams do come true and it happened last September!  Since I’ve always been a ‘lake girl’, this little place, away from the hustle and bustle of my crazy Houston life, brings me pure joy.  And it's my new ‘happy place’!
You see, I found that when you find your 'happy place’, something interesting happens... The stress of your everyday life disappears and it changes you in a profound way.  If you can’t think of where it is for you, I encourage you seek it out.  Perhaps, it’s a lake house like me, the mountains, traveling, reading, playing sports or even taking a long bath or having a massage-- anything that lets go of the stress of your everyday life ... more
