When you are competing in the real estate industry, the strength of your local roots may be one of your best assets. Share your unique connections in your community, tell your story and define yourself for building meaningful relationships.
I could share many personal examples but I will limit these comments to a couple of ways that I have used connections to build my business. I was active in the local Lions Club and served a president. That role assured a leadership image with every Lions Club member in the region. A fellow member actually introduced me to my future wife, Dolores.
As a member of a regional builders association, I was active on committees, went through the chairs as an officer and served as president of the organization. This lead to state and national positions of leadership in NAHB. The result was many profitable relationships in the building and development industry.
