By The Sea, By The Beautiful Sea
Of all the paths you take in life, make sure one leads to the sea.  
 
With a bit of an apology to John Muir from his wise words: "Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt."
Sand is dirt, right? I have spent a good deal of my life in New England and visited the ocean many tines, especially living in Rhode Island for 15 years.  So a very quick trip to see my son in Midcoastal California- Monterey-fed my soul. We went on a marvelous whale watching expedition accompanied by dolphins and watching Orcas, gray whales and other marine animals like cute sea otters, sea lions and harbor seals. 
 
But watching the sunset in Carmel-by-the-Sea is a thing. It really is.  As dusk fast approached, more and more cars came down to the beach with cameras.
There was such a beautiful mist along the edges of the beach too.
Even a sand sculpture artist with his two black labs nestled in front of his handmade castles. 
Ahhhhhhh. What a lovely trip. By the Sea, by the Beautiful Sea.
