Thanks for stopping by and taking time out of your day to read my post.  My intent is to put a smile on your face.  Hopefully you’ll go away with some information you may have forgotten about or did not know.  Now sit back and enjoy.
John was born in 1806. He was a Presbyterian minister and his wife Sarah was a Quaker. But enough about him, nothing special except for the one things he will go down in the history books for. But first let me tell you he influenced such people as James R. Amon, Thomas R. Amos and Armistead H. Miller to name a few. All of them went on to become ordained ministers. However, his most noted fame is when he founded Ashmun Institute, which later became Lincoln University located in Pennsylvania.
The Institute was founded in 1854 and became a public institution in 1972 it is located on 422acres in the town of Oxford. It currently meets the needs of about 2,000 students 60% of which are females.
