If I knew then what it takes to be a Realtor
I just finished reading Doug Rogers  featured post regarding new Real Estate Agents. If you haven't read it, take a minute to do so. 
All new Agents need to know what they are getting into.  I did a post about this years ago, but at the time I was somewhat of a new Agent myself and I was most worried about the "things" I needed to start out, ie laptop, tablet, smartphone, good printer, camera, website, blog, briefcase (lol), business cards, license, E&O insurance, email address to name a few.
However, after you are done collecting stuff and setting yourself up with things, then what?  This is the million dollar question. Many new agents believe they will start at an Agency and somehow be fed leads for customers. Or, as in the past, take a shift in an office and catch people who call in on the phone.
Times have changed. At least in my area.  If your Broker gives you a lead or two, that is to get you started and you best follow it.   A lead is just that, a lead.   It's up to you to follow up and convert it into a client, then represent that client and retain that client! This is ... more
