Taste The Best Hot Wieners In Rhode Island!
 
I prefer the word "hot dog," yet the chef behind the counter insisted on using the word "wiener" when ordering. 
If you are looking to taste the Best Rhode Island Wieners (or Hot dogs) you NEED to visit Olneyville New York System in either Cranston or Providence. I love restaurants that honor the historic value of it's interior and match that with "old time recipes" and great service.
We ordered a cheese burger deluxe, the wiener special with everything on it and good ol' fashioned grilled cheese. YUM!! The prices are also very reasonable and the meal you receive is filling (do not be fooled). 
Breif History:
In the 1920′s, Nicholas Stevens and his father Anthony emigrated to the United States from Greece and settled in Brooklyn, New York where they operated a candy shop. In the late 1930′s, they moved their entire family to Rhode Island and opened a small restaurant at 8 Olneyville Square and served hot wieners and a small lunch menu. Then in 1953, they moved to it’s present location around the corner at 20 Plainfield Street and were open 24 hours a day until 1968.
