The Bluffton Market - and the TEMPERATURE -
is HOT HOT HOT!
It is not unusual to have heat in the summer in the lowcountry - but between the temperatures and the humidity it certainly has come early!
OUR WEATHER
Bluffton is surrounded by water, either Port Royal Sound, the May River, the Okatie River, the Colleton River, and all kind of little tidal creeks as well. We call them rivers but actually they are estuaries governed by the tides and home to all kinds of wildlife. The humidity comes from all that water constantly evaporating and at this time of year, it is fair to say that there is not a breath of air inland, and relief is only found on or nearOverheated tomato plant the water.

I feel a bit like that old comedy routine - 'how hot is it?' 'it's so hot that........to illustrate how hot it is, you can see that even my tomatoes have given up - and my poor rosemary has simply had it. It is just too depressing to take any pictures of my hydrangeas, or the patches of dryness in my lawn.
