Strategy to house hunt when you want to "move on up".
Want to buy a bigger house? Don't want to spend any more money on the one you have now because, you know it, unless you add more square footage, there is very little chance of it bringing in more at the closing table.
I've seen people spend all kinds of money in their home, but is it really worth it?
A client of mine decided that what she really needed was more space, so we are going house hunting today.
Let's say she finds one today that she really wants, what about her current home? The last thing she wants to do is to buy another one when she is already paying a mortgage on the one she has.
You might say that she should wait, sell her house first, and then go looking.
However, prices are going up and the last thing she wants to do is rent while she is looking.
She is also seeing homes on the market right now that she likes, and there is no guarantee that they or others as nice will be on the market when she's actively looking.
