Is Preparation a Waste of Time if the Outcome Does not Happen?
WOW! What a week! 
 
On Monday we learn that Hurricane Matthew is coming for us. The biggest storm in over a decade at a category 4 ran his fury on Haiti. Now there are over 800 people dead in Haiti and the death toll is rising. This was no storm to turn your nose up at. Here is a photo from NASA of what this monster looks like from above the earth. 
 
 
 
I thought about how I did NOT want to go through the two days of prep work for a hurricane. As soon as my mind entertained those thoughts, I remembered very well Hurricane Wilma and how we were without power for about 21 days. It was around the same time of year. We even thought we may have been having Thanksgiving with no power. 
 
On Tuesday we started filling up our water jugs, going to the store for last minute items like snacks, checking all our batteries, lanterns, etc. 
 
On Wednesday we worked outside all day long up to dusk. We worked on picking up all our yard decorations, things that could become missiles, and putting all our tools in the shed. Then it was on to bringing all the lighter potted plants ... more
