Thankful for Tranquility

A journey along Utah’s Highway 12 provides a visitor with an opportunity to visit three National Parks, and three Utah State Parks. 
In 2009 I crawled into my car, headed east on Highway 50 out of Sacramento to Utah.  I tapped into Highway 12 at its southern tip in Utah.  The beauty of Zion, Bryce and Capital Reef National Parks was awe inspiring.  Ditto, for the Anasazi, Kodachrome and Petrified Forest State Parks!

At Kodachrome I encountered this massive lone Hoodoo standing majestically as a testament to the power which placed it there. 

For those unaware, to Native American Indians, a Hoodoo is a stone formation – and is a dead men standing.  For another example of Hoodoos, I have written another blog with photo taken at Bryce which pictures a canyon populated with them.  It can be accessed via: “Who Knew it was about Hoodoos”
