Did you know that you can fish in the Woodbridge lakes in Irvine?
Yes, with a fishing permit from the Woodbridge Village Association, you can, as long as you're a registered Woodbridge resident, with a WVA Fishing Permit, and have a Fishing Regulations and Log Booklet. 
An awesome perk of living in Woodbridge, Irvine is being able to catch a glimpse of life going on underneath the surface. There are many species of fish who call the Woodbridge lakes home.
Here is a list of some of them as described on the WVA website:
Bass
“Bass are spiny-finned fish. This bass occurs naturally in eastern North America but has been introduced throughout the rest of the continent. It is one of the most popular of all freshwater game fish; the angling record is 22.25 lb.”
 
 
Sunfishes
“Most sunfishes are small, from 3 to 10 inches. The most familiar species is the bluegill sunfish which is known to reach a weight of 4.75 lb. Another species familiar to Woodbridge fishermen is the redear. These fish prefer the shallow, weedy margins of lakes and streams. Sunfish are stocked in the lakes to provide forage for the bass and fishing for the angler.”
