Gratitude Day 3 - Good Health
 
     To continue the theme of gratitude offered to us by Debbie Reynolds in this month's Thanksgiving contest, I was thinking today about how incredibly thankful I am for good health - for both myself and my loved ones.

     In the past few weeks I've run a 10k obstacle course, a half marathon, went hiking, played hockey, worked a bunch of hours, swam in the ocean, and got back onto the basketball court for the first time in a couple of years.  I am beyond blessed with good health.  I haven't had a "sick day" that's required me to be away from work in well over a year, and good health allows me to do so many things that I try not to take for granted.
 
     This has also been a year (knock on wood it continues) where my family and friends have been healthy, too.  In years past we had injuries in our family, my grandma was very sick for a while, and it's never fun to see someone close to you with failing health -- this year, those close to me have been healthy and happy, and I'm so incredibly grateful for that.  I ... more
