Pending Home Sales October 2016
On November 30, 2015, National Association of Realtors® (NAR) reported that nationwide pending contract signed home sales were higher 0.1% to an index of 110.0 in October of 2016 from an index of 109.9 in September of 2016, and increased 1.8% from an index of 108.1 in October of 2015.
Pending home sales index in the Northeast up 0.4% to an index of 96.9 in October of 2016 from September 2016, and rose 1.6% from October of 2015.
Pending home sales index in the Midwest gained 1.6% to an index of 106.3 in October of 2016 from September 2016, and higher 1.2% from October of 2015.
Pending home sales index in the South dropped 1.3% to an index of 120.1 in October of 2016 from September 2016, but grew 0.8% over from October of 2015.
Pending home sales index in the West increased 0.7% to an index of 108.3 in October of 2016 from September 2016, and jumped 2.5% from October of 2015, according to Adam DeSanctis of NAR
Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, stated "Despite limited listings and steadfast price growth that's now carried into the fall, buyer demand has remained strong because of the consistently reliable job creation in a majority of metro areas."
