Staging Vacant Homes Maximizes Square Footage and Value
Staging vacant homes makes rooms look larger and maximizes square footage and buyer interest. In this builder's home located in Tenafly, NJ, buyers felt the size of the main floor rooms were too small, a problem for a home priced at over $1.6 million. Prior to bringing in rental furniture and accessories, the home sat on the market with no offers for 2 months. After staging in the fall, the home went under contract in 2 weeks. Once staged with the appropriately-sized furniture and the right number of pieces, the rooms were much more appealing to buyers and their doubts were removed. The family room in the top photo was 17' x 12.5' but appears larger when staged, as do the living room and dining room pictured, which are both 14' x 12'. The use of high-end transitional furniture, rugs, and accessories also complements the style of the home and the price point, increasing perceived value as well. #stagingworks
