Christmas 2016 From Our House and Hearts to Yours from Prospect CT
Christmas is a magical time of year and for as long as I can remember the anticipation of the running to the Christmas Tree early in the morning was special and seemed to take longer each year.
I do remember one Christmas when my day had a sour ending and made it difficult for me to sit comfortably for a while.
I had an older brother and as is sometimes the case, sibling rivalry can get out of hand.  Each year when it came time for presents, he seemed to get something that was age appropriate for him, but just in my heart should have been mine.  Such was the case one year when we got to the living room, and there next to the tree was a brand new 20" Schwinn, with no training wheels.
This was well before the Christmas Story, so I would have to say it was my equivalent of that Red Rider BB Gun.  The disappointment was large when told it would be for my brother but I would get his old one for me. Just what every kid wants to hear.  My eyes never left that bike that day.
