Aloha Kai Condo Project Moves Forward

 
Aloha Kai Condominium project being developed by California-based MB Property Acquisitions LLC has partnered with the Japanese firm Tama Home to construct the 37-story, 117-unit development on Atkinson Drive. The project expects completion in two years, according to Pacific Business News.
 
The Aloha Kai developer asked for a zoning change to increase its height limit to 350 feet from 150 feet, resulting in a delay. The long planned project will have a rooftop pool, and all units will include lanais that overlook the ocean.Pricing has not been settled, although estimates have been made at $1,400 per square foot.
 
The project will encompass about 150,000 square feet of net saleable square footage with four units per floor. The base of the tower will contain a YMCA and there will be no commercial units in the project.
 
The new three-story, 30,000-square-foot YMCA Central Branch will have a swimming pool and a sophisticated aqua facility that will cater to seniors. It will also have five levels of parking with the Aloha Kai residential units being built atop the parking levels.
