Proper Interviews Result In Selective Hiring | They're Not Cattle

There are many posts to be found on this site referencing the training of new   agents and who is responsible for their success. What I don’t understand is why the topic of hiring is not the initial discussion. Successful training results ONLY when the hiring process was done effectively. Every applicant is not a potential hire!
There are too many Broker/Owner/Managers who hire anyone with a pulse and a license. There may very well be a training program in place that provides adequate preparation for the new agent. There may be a mentoring program in place providing accompaniment and/or answers to concerns and questions.
An office may be ready to nurture and groom, but if the agent is not capable of applying the information and the training, the agent will never get off the blocks.  Is that the fault of the agent or the person who hired?  It’s not reasonable that a specific training program be created for one or two agents.  Time is precious.  Hiring must be focused on the agents who demonstrate the qualities EXPECTED of a SUCCESSFUL real estate agent.
