Everyone needs a professional to sell something
So my wife and I decided at the end of 2016 we needed new cars. We are not big car people and we don't like debt so this is an every ten year event. My old Lexus i sold to a friend of mine who is a REALTOR®, but my wife's car we decided to sell ourselves instead of a trade in because of the demand locally of Honda CRVs. This has been a great reminder of why using a professional REALTOR® to sell your home is driven home by my first day experience.
First, I woke up to a dozen text messages of, is your car still available? Then the scams started coming in. No they weren't from Nigeria, but within a hour I had two list price offers sight unseen but I would have to give them all sorts of information because they were too busty to come to the state to buy and just had no time to get a cashiers check. As Danny Glover said in Lethal Weapon, I'm getting to old for this shit.
This brings home why a FISBO is often a dumb idea in real estate. Security is one because how do I know these people don't mean me harm or to steal ... more
