It's Slicker than Snot...The First Cedaredge Snowstorm of the Year
This is shaping up to be the biggest snowfall we've had this season. That's great news, because so far this has been a lackluster snow year. We have had other storms, but nothing like this one. At least in Cedaredge and the surrounding small towns. The Grand Mesa still has some of the best snow in the state following a series of storms that dumped a lot of snow up there earlier this season. 
It's dumping out there and you can see cars sliding all around town. The office already received an automated call from Mesa County (that's north of us) stating schools would be starting two hours late tomorrow. If this keeps up, there may not even be any school. I use to really look forward to the snow days. 
Please keep in mind...it's not always the amount of snow that makes traveling dangerous. Temperatures were just above freezing for most of the day, and now the snow is coming down hard and it's getting colder. The roads are freezing up and travel is dangerous. 
Someone from Cedaredge Land Company made the trip from Delta to Cedaredge, and had a bad experience on the Cory Grade. One car lost control and slide off ... more
