Over the years, I have written about the Fresco Community Market in the Hermon neighborhood of Los Angeles. Why would anyone be interested in a grocery store?   
 
Well, let me tell you why.  In this post, I would like to share how a business, this particular business, an independent and locally owned grocery store, embraces the surrounding communities while highlighting the power of paying it forward.
 
Some background:  Fresco Community Market is located at 5914 Monterey Road(at Via Marisol and Avenue 60) in the Hermon neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles 90042.  The store is highly convenient to those in other communities within Northeast Los Angeles especially Monterey Hills, Highland Park, Garvanza, Montecito Heights, Mount Washington, Eagle Rock and El Sereno as well as the city of South Pasadena just to the north of the store.  
 
Fresco Community Market opened in February 2011 and features an open loft-like appearance highlighted by organic produce, butchers ready-to-assist, fresh seafood, a deli along with a selection of beer and wine.  The bakery and coffee bar has a community gathering space with free wi-fi.   The staff is particularly friendly.
