The always popular Brasil Jazz Festa, featuring some of the area’s most talented musicians and vocalists, takes place February 19 at Dizzy’s in San Diego. Dizzy’s has hosted the Brasil Jazz Festa for the last 4 years – the festa was previously held for 4 years in Encinitas at the City Library. This year will be at their new location in Arias Hall behind the Musicians Association of San Diego Building in Bay Park.

The 2017 Brasil Jazz Festa features 8 artists:
 
Téka Penteriche - guitar/voice
Lori Bell - flute
Danny Green - piano
Justin Grinnell - bass
Julien Cantelm – drums
Mark Lamson - percussion
Bruno Moreira – percussion/voice
Allison Adams Tucker - voice
 
The Brasil Jazz Festa continues to be a wonderful, entertaining concert celebrating Brazilian jazz and is always worth more than the $20 ticket price (I’ve seen the majority of them).
 
Tickets can be ordered online and will be available at the door, room permitting at $25. There is free parking by the building and on Morena Boulevard. Dizzy’s is unpretentious and focused solely on the music and entertainment – no fancy signage, video TV screens, bar or food.
