June 1st is the start of hurricane season. Now is the time to make plans and insure you have your supplies together. To help prep for this upcoming season go to my post on a sale tax break coming up. Homes in Kenner and Metairie LA were hit from flood water during Hurricane Katrina. Many homes have rebuilt and some have not. More the reason to be prepared.
Here are 10 things you may need to be prepared for the season:
•1.    Your medications
•2.    Copies of your Home Owners Insurance Policy
•3.    Copies of your Flood Insurance Policy
•4.    Copies of your Health Insurance Policy
•5.    Copies of Evacuation Route you're planning on taking
•6.    Back up communication plan. Remember cell did not work during Katrina. Think about Testing.
•7.    Have additional email accounts. Use Yahoo or Hotmail to stay in touch.
•8.    Back Up your computer data NOW! See my follow up to backing up computer data.
•9.    Service your automobile today. Change the oil and tires if required.
•10.   Tell your family members the area you're planning to go too.
•11.    Pack your family photos in plastic containers.
