Kathleen Daniel's March Contest: No Fooling Around April 2017 Let’s Get Real Contest really got me to thinking about things that really bug me in this industry when, at the same time, there are so many facets I love. That being said, here goes!
 
One thing that bothers me more than anything are people who are guided by an ultra-ego, often placing themselves above everyone else. In my opinion, we all have something unique to offer consumers and success means something different to each of us.
 
Acting hoity-toity and high-n-mighty, controlling everything does not resonate well with me either. Remember Toby Keith's song, "I Wanna Talk About Me?" People who constantly boast about themselves are looked upon as narcissistic and very insecure. It really isn't all about them!
 
I have an aversion to those types. They eventually find themselves without an audience and many times, return clients. One agent in particular was a one-shot wonder, never pursuing referrals. His ego made him think his amazing prowess was enough to keep bringing 'em back. 
 
It is necessary to toot your horn in the real estate industry to a certain degree and seasoned agents know what works for them in their selling areas. Every one of our business standards differ person-to-person. Some find it necessary to incessantly beat others over the head to prove themselves.
