Fact: This is not the first Bell, This is the Bell that was recast by Pass and Stow in 1753 in Philadelphia. The first bell was cast in England and arrived in Philadelphia in August of 1752. It cracked the first time it was rung.
 
Fact: Though the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th, 1776, the bell was not rung until 4 days later at the first public reading of the Declaration on July 8th.
 
Fact: The word Pennsylvania on the Bell is misspelled. On the Bell, it has only one "n"
 
Fact: This Bell cracked in 1835 tolling the death of Chief Justice , John Marshall.
 
Fact: During the invasion by the British on Philadelphia, the bell was safely stored in Allentown, Pa. 
 
Fact: The Bell weighs 2080 lbs.
 
Fact: The Bible verse Leviticus 25:10 is inscribed on the Bell.
 
Fact: Why do I keep referring to the Bell and not by it's current name, the Liberty Bell? Because it was not originally called the Liberty Bell, the Liberty Bell name was given to it by the Abolitionists many decades later after the Bell came to be.
