Tragedy in Texas
The primary point of this post is to honor the 26 people - including many children who were slain in the small Texas town of Sutherland Springs... just east of San Antonio. This appears to be a homegrown killer without the trappings of a terrorist attack.  Just a single tragic figure who, with the benefit of hindsight, should have come to the attention of law enforcement long ago.  And who benefitted by a failure of the Air Force to post information from his court-martial leading to his discharge from the service to civilian databases that may have prevented his acquiring a gun.  
But this post serves another purpose.  I want to quote another author for his take about the incident giving credit to two civilians who broke up the attacks and pursued the perpetrator until he had a car accident and police could catch up with the group.  The author has consistently delivered excellent commentary on a wide variety of political and social topics for 16 years.  If you are not familiar with him and his work - you should be.
