Westminster, CO-Two MLS firms, REColorado and IRES in the Greater Metro Denver area, are being pushed to Merge!!
What is exciting about this on going "fight" to merge, is that the "shareholders", real estate brokers are forcing the issue.  After many years of never agreeing on how to accomplish this, due to "egos and nonsense", there may be an end all of this fighting and an actual merger to benefit the Realtor®.   
The Denver area is unique in the fact there are quite a few board of Realtors® through-out Denver and surrounding cities and outskirt communities.  We share a real estate commission that all real estate brokers comply with, and that includes the real estate documents we use to assist the sellers and buyers.
It will be an interesting event, that is over due for how some of us feel.  There will always be those that disagree with the merger, time will tell.  We hope to see this finalized by the end of the year.
Since, the MLS data is being shared from both entities, no reason they should work independently against one another for reasons other than, we like how we do it, and not how the other ... more
