National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day Today! Time To Get Your Ugly On!


It's National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day today... each year, the third Friday of December is set aside to proudly wear ugly Christmas sweaters. So before you get dressed today... go find your ugly Christmas sweater and wear it! And don't just wear it, wear it proudly!
 
While we call it National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, did you know this observance started in Canada in 2011 and is also celebrated in the United Kingdom? Maybe the name should be changed to International Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. The day has become very popular as it's estimated that several hundred thousand people don their ugly Christmas regalia each year in observance.
 
What I love about participating in National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day is that it's so easy and participating doesn't make you fat or tipsy! All you have to do is wear an ugly Christmas sweater! (Although I suppose if your sweater is ugly enough, some might thing you are tipsy!)

Animal or cartoon characters with a holiday theme are a great starting place. Think reindeer, snowmen, mice, kittens or elves.
