Fat Tuesday: aka Carnival...aka Schmutziger Donnerstag...
Mardi Gras aka a Fat Tuesday: there are other names too…
Well here we are less than an hour away from Mardi Gras. This event brings me back to my youth, when I was in College and wanted to go to Brazil to experience the “Real Mardi Gras” well instead I remained a nice “well behaved youth” finished school, got my degree and off I went to the US Army as an Officer….
When I left the service, I had dreams again of wanting to go the Mardi Gras Celebrations in Brazil. Well that did not happen, instead I ended up dating a Brazilian Native😊!   Not sure if you are aware but in Brazil there is a mass invasion of tourists. The country has about 70 % of their visitors that come during Mardi Gras aka Carnival.
Keep in mind even though I missed out going to the “Mecca of Carnival”, I managed to have a good time in Germany. Keep in mind Germans celebrate Fat Tuesday on Thursday😊Fastnacht means "Eve of the Fast or Fasching. Many people think Schmutziger Donnerstag is Dirty Thursday but if you understood German slang it actually is Fat Thursday.
