Bankhead MARTA Station to see Major Development
Back in the 1800's, I think there was a phrase...."Go West!" It was used by settlers living on the East Coast states about the land of opportunity out West in land yet untamed. It seems that phrase may be applied to future development in Atlanta, as developers push West of Downtown Atlanta.
Bankhead MARTA Station to see Major Development
Plans were unveiled this week for a 70-acre mixed-use development next to the Bankhead MARTA station, showing more interest in the revitalization of Atlanta's forgotten neighborhoods west of Downtown. This latest offering comes from a group lead by former Atlanta Braves and Georgia Tech star Mark Teixeira who is joining forces with Urban Creek Partners Jimmy Barry and Joel Bowman.
The map below shows the close proximity of the Bankhead MARTA station to the future Westside Park, which will be part of the Atlanta Beltline, and a park larger than Piedmont Park. 
Phase One, at a whooping $400 million will be called Quarry Yards (most likely a take from the quarry that will become the reservoir inside the park).
