Foundation are important
Foundations matter. The foundation of a home really can make a difference. Many people have a preference of what type of foundations are the best and that is OK. What matters most is that the foundation is in good condition and doing its job correctly. In Teller county we have a lot of foundations that are engineered due to the terrain and many people who I have worked with tend to leave the foundation as the last item on the list of importance. I have noticed in my career that there are some area’s that have foundation issues that cause more concern than others. Foundation issues can be an expensive fix and sometimes the issue could have been prevented by adding more drainage away from the house.
There are many issues a foundation faces. One of the big one that I have seen over the past few months is water issues. While the area we are in is a tundra desert we still have run off from snow (when we get it) or Ice buildup on one side of the home.
