The NAR Spends Millions In Lobbying Efforts
 
 
Did you know that the NAR is one of the most powerful lobbying organizations going? Only second to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (which forked over $104 million) the NAR spent 64.8 million on the 2015-2016 election cycle.
 
Until I read “Where NAR spends its multimillions in lobbying” I had no idea the NAR was so political. I also am a little torn on the idea, too! My biggest concern is that I have to trust the NAR to lobby on my behalf "as well as" the 1.1 million members. I just don’t see how the NAR represents my interest alongside the 1.1 million members. (And by the looks of things, the NAR spreads the wealth evenly between the two parties which seems like a wash “or” waste!)
 
I get what the NAR is trying to do “but” this also has me very concerned, too. Lobbying is very tricky business, especially when trying to represent 1.1 million members. But by the same token, there is a quote in politics that I subscribe to “if you are not at the table, you are on the menu.”
