Californian- Earthquake Insurance is not as expensive as you think !
I wrote an entire blog about California Earthquake insurance and then erased the darn thing !  Don't have time to re-write today and want to encourage California residences to purchase earthquake insurance. You can go online to the California Earthquake Authority and get an online quote. It is well to really think about some of the things that happen after an earthquake. If your home is destroyed - during the Loma Prieta earthquake my home only had a few cracks but 3 homes within 150 yards of me had to be rebuilt completely. If that happens how long will you be out of your home ? It could be 12 to 18 months. It will be difficult to find a contractor and it will be difficult to find a place to live. Those are a couple of "little" inconveniences. Here is a recent press release from the California Earthquake Authority.
