52 Saturdays - Week 18 - Sandhill Research and Education Center
  Located at the corner of Two Notch and Clemson Roads in Northeast Columbia, SC the Sandhill Research and Education facility is a 600 acre campus known mostly to locals as Clemson Extension. Just across the street from the Village at Sandhill, The Sandhill Research and Education Center looks like nothing more than a couple of large fields and a handful of trees from the road. Other than the Sparkleberry County Fair, held in the fields annually, and the weekly farmer's market the facility hosts on Tuesday afternoons in Spring and Summer, there isn't much to see just passing by. Occasionally a visitor flying kite or model planes.
 
 
For those curious enough to explore beyond the gates however, there's plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy. There are lakes on site, members of the fish club are allowed to fish them, but anyone is allowed to enjoy their beauty. You may even catch a glimpse of the resident alligators that inhabit the waters. There is a children's play area on the back side of the campus, you just have to follow the signs once inside to find it.
