Why Neighborhood Covenants and Restrictions Matter
I just recently had a conversation with a relative of a new homeowner in a 55+ community with front yard restrictions regarding why her grandmother was notified that she had to remove numerous garden flags and other items...Her response to me was 'I don't see what harm a little color adds to the property'...My response to her was 'what if everyone did it?'...She couldn't come up with a reply that didn't violate the restrictions her grandmother verified she read and understood at settlement...Case closed.

Recently I was speaking with a past client about possibly selling her home. She stated that she used to love her neighborhood but recently she had been noticing messy yards, mostly from rental properties in the area along with other annoyances. She was considering moving to an area with an HOA but was hesitant because of the many rules and regulations.
 
Then, one day we were out looking at possible neighborhoods and homes that she could both downsize and age into. As we were driving away from her current neighborhood, she asked me to drive by a certain house and ask my opinion.
