80% of Success Is Just Showing Up

 
When you are self-employed, it's so easy to get into bad habits. If you don't have to punch a clock or have to show up on time to impress the boss, it's really easy to start going into the office later and ending the day earlier and earlier. Woody Allen said that 80% of success is from just showing up. I have to agree.
It's kind of like working out at the gym. 80% of the effort is just getting there. Once you put yourself there, you might as well do the exercises.
Some days I might not have any specific appointments so it would be so easy to just sleep in or goof off. I know myself well enough to know that if I would start doing that, I would quickly form a bad habit.
So I try to get up every morning at the same time, whether I have to or not. I get in to the office by 7:30 am, come home for lunch and then back to the office where I usually leave around 6:30 pm.
