Steamin' Days  at Auburn Heights, a State Park in Yorklyn Delaware will give visitors a chance to climb into an antique steam auto or board one of the little trains circling the grounds. You can also tour the 1897 mansion which once belonged to the Marshall family, which owned a nearby paper mill. There will be activities for all ages and steam generated popcorn, plus hot dogs and refreshments. Admission fee.
 
JULY 4 
LET FREEDOM RING-created in 1972-begins nationally with the tapping of the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia at 2:00 PM Eastern Daylight time. Each year over 100,000 Americans participate in sites that include the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, and the Washington Memorial at Valley Forge.
 Northern Delaware’s annual 4th of July bell-ringing ceremony begins with a program at 1:25 p.m. inside Immanuel Church on the Green in Old New Castle. At 2:00 Eastern Daylight Time, beginning with bells in Philadelphia, bells across New Castle and across the Nation will peal, officially commemorating the birth of American Independence.
