Homes for Sale in Windsor Park Edmonton - July 2018

The Neighbourhood
Windsor Park is located in the University area of Edmonton.  It is bordered by the University of Alberta to the east, the North Saskatchewan River to the north, William Hawrelak Park to the west and University Avenue to the south.  The area was farmed in the late 19th century by the Omand family.  The land was purchased for development as Windsor Park in 1911 and became part of Edmonton when Edmonton and Strathcona amalgamated in 1912.  In 1955 the Groat Bridge was constructed, improving access between Windsor Park and central Edmonton.  Most home construction in Windsor Park occurred in the 1940s and 1950s.  Many of the larger lots have newer rebuilds.
The population of Windsor Park is approximately 2,900 and there are 450 residences.  Over 90 percent of homes are single family detached houses and over 80% are owned.  Homes along Saskatchewan Drive have spectacular river valley views.

Schools and Amenities
