Bixby Creek Homes Coming to the Las Vegas Desert - Yes I Said Creek
At Luxury Realty Group we sell a lot of new Las Vegas Summerlin homes and usually the neighborhood name is relevant to the type of home and area. However, when we saw the land being developed for the upcoming new homes for sale at Bixby Creek we thought the developer had gone mad.  A creek in the desert?  Makes no sense.  Actually we discovered it makes a lot of sense.
With Las Vegas being surrounded by mountains, when it rains we have a torrent of water rushing down the mountains heading towards the famous Strip via specially engineered drainage channels.  The water is so intense that a drainage channel can go from dry to a rushing avalanche of water several feet high in minutes!
So you ask what does all this have to do with calling the neighborhood Bixby Creek? Well the clever developer decided to build a bridge over the drainage channel and incorporate it into the neighborhood overall landscape. No doubt the neighborhood name will have the curious asking lots of questions for years to come.
