Historic Concord Pike plans being discussed
For those of us who live in the area of North Wilmington called Brandywine Hundred, Concord Pike (Route 202) is a constant in our lives.  I expect there will be a big crowd on July 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Talleyville Fire Hall (photo)  when a 20 year plan for the area is discussed.
 
 
How many more fast food joints can the area stand? Where can we make U-turns to get to businesses and homes on the other side of the median? Can the pain be relieved at the intersection of 202 and Silverside where a tangle of traffic lanes come together? (Photo 4 miles to Wilmington historic mile marker). What about that really long traffic light in Fairfax at Murphy Road?
 
Wilmington University was granted a traffic waiver and agreed to modify class start times and encourage public transportation for students and faculty for their new campus already appearing on the skyline at Naamans Rd. and 202. Citizens had fought a new shopping center at the location in the past and this was felt to be a more manageable solution.
