Gunter Texas is located in the Southwest section of Grayson County off of the Highway 289 or as you move upwards into the city Preston Road. 
The city of Gunter is growing quickly back in about the year 2000 the city had a total of about 1.5 square miles of town.  As of just a few years ago the approx square miles of Gunter is just over 17 miles. 
How many students are there in the Gunter School District you might ask? 
For the 2016-2017 school year there were 818 students, which averaged out to be just over 9 students per teacher. Which is a great student to teacher average. With more one on one with each student being a much more possible factor.
Gunter ISD  is  based in Gunter, Texas. Located in the Grayson County area, the district extends into a very small portion of northern Collin County.  We have listed the location of each school  below for your reference.
