Are you a do-it-yourselfer?  I’m not talking about doing repairs to your home.  I’m referring to listing your own home rather than hiring another listing agent in your office to list it.  Is it worth paying someone else a listing fee?
In my opinion, it certainly is.  I listed my home in 2008, just as I felt the market starting to slowly change in my area.  I had at one time owned over 20 homes and condos and never listed any of them myself.  I purchased them without any other agent, but "always" used another agent for the listing end.
Listing a property is the side of the transaction that is chuck full of emotion and gets very personal.  Emotion does not belong in any business transaction.  The only way to remove it is to list with another agent.  Paying a co broke fee was always a good decision to me.
