Is It Okay to Use Smartphone Photos for Listings?
Here is an odd topic: Is it okay to use smartphone photos (that you took yourself) for listing photos?
We know there are many costs involved for real estate agents, and in order to turn a profit you must be selective about when it would be a good idea to DIY vs hire a professional. Building a website, for example...might be best left in the hands of a professional. Blog writing can be done yourself...but what if you were to hire a professional writer with experience in converting blog traffic to leads?
With phones, everybody knows that the smartphone camera is getting better and better. The market for pocket cameras is nowhere near where it used to be. So choosing to take photos yourself using your smartphone might be a logical decision to make. But is it the right one?
From a writer for real estate, and not an agent myself I have this unique perspective of being both inside the industry, and able to be on the outside looking in. To me, choosing to take your own listing photos is the equivalent of choosing to sell your home without an agent. We are always stressing "Use a professional! Use a professional!"...so wouldn't it ... more
