Thankful for the Tropical Plants and Trees - Gratitude Post #5

 
 
I am thankful for the beautiful tropical plants and trees that are abundant here in Florida.
 
As far back as I can remember, I have always had a love affair with beautiful plants and trees.  When I relocated to Florida I was amazed at all of the new tropical varieties that were growing here and how big they were.  That really surprised me.  Much different from the northeast although I still love many of the beautiful trees and plants that grow there as well.
I am still learning about the varieties of palms and plants, many species are native to Florida and thrive in our climate.
With lots of rain, humidity and sunshine, we have the perfect environment for these beautiful plants to grow and thrive.  Year round we have lush green grass and blooming plants. I have a variety of plants such as these growing in my own yard. I live on the mainland, where the air is not as salty as on the beachside.  If you live on the beachside, the plants need to be more salt tolerant. 
My gardenia tree is a sight to behold in the spring when it is blooming. The fragrance fills up my entire backyard.
