Yesterday When I Was Young
Even though there should have been no rightful way for me to avoid it, I cannot say I recall watching a single episode of Hee Haw in the '70's.  Yet somehow, I do identify Roy Clark as an image from my childhood.  Now as an adult, and one who had a run-in with teenage musicianship, I find it startling to learn that Roy didn't begin playing guitar until he was a adolescent himself.  Almost always when you behold a talent such as Mr. Clark's, its seeds can be found in early childhood and a prodigious gift that was evident very early on.  Then again, maybe his itinerant youth and the ... more
