WINTER, A GREAT TIME TO SELL A HOME IN NORTHERN KY.
 
It seems winter came early to Northern Kentucky this year. We've had a couple of ice events already and accumulating snow in November is unusual for us. An ice storm in November brought down a bunch of tree limbs in my yard as well as across the region and shut down electrical power to thousands for days. This can put a damper on the market when it comes to selling or buying a home.
So weather can impact our market this time of year as well as can the holidays. In some past years we've seen the market really slow down when we hit Thanksgiving and continue into January. The Northern Kentucky real estate market like so many others struggled all year with a lack of inventory. When cold weather hits and there are fewer homes on the market it can be even harder for the buyers who really want to buy but there is little to nothing to choose from.
That is why I think winter can be one of the best times to sell a home quickly. A nice home priced right should sell pretty quick with even less competition. Another ... more
